Very Attractive Circa 1910 William Read & Sons Professional Model Baseball Bat.  This great early bat measures 34 inches long with a couple of cleat marks present.  The bat features Wm Read & Sons logo at the center of the barrel, as well as Professional marking.  There appears to be a factory error and correction on the model number of the bat.  The model number of the bat is marked as 125 BS, but there is a B under the S.  125 BS is Read & Sons professional model bat, where as 125 BB is their ball balanced model bat.  It is my theory that this bat was erroneously marked as a 125 BB, with the mistake being caught, and an S stamped on top of the B to correctly mark the model number.  The bat also has the remnants of a decal on the end of the barrel which appears to read Professional.  A great early bat from a seldom seen maker.
